Yes, the tax is the price killer in Canada. We’ve been known to make border runs to the States to pick up a cheap bottle now and again. Importing it into Canada isn’t much cheaper as the duty on a bottle is usually around 100% of the purchase price.

The reason liquor is expensive in Canada is because of the tax, isn’t it?

Thanks for the comment. Having never been to Virginia, I can’t say. But Tanduay does have a distributor in the USA. Perhaps they could direct you to someone local? http://www.tanduay.com/distributor.htm

I live in Virginia, US. Can I get the Tanduay Rum 1854 here? I had it before and it was one of the best rums i ever had.
